Backdated post. Actual event took place on 06 December 2006.
Yeay, an earlier birthday celebration as I will be away for company & family trip near my birthday week.
I finally manage to get to celebrate my birthday together with my uni-mates.
Am glad that they free up their time to come dinner together . Much appreciated guys and girls!
I think me, birthday and Bangsar Village seems to be fated in many ways.
I remember I celebrated my birthday last year with my uni friends at Basil.
So it was a coincidence or fate? I wasn’t particularly early but at least I wasn’t the latest.
I find it quite hard to locate the venue, Delicious Cafe. It is quite hidden, especially if you enter from the information counter side.
One would have to go through the supermarket area in order to get to the place (from inside the mall).
Their menu looks very interesting. The graphics looks attractive and the whole brand identity is nice.
From their posters to their menu, glass stickers and everything else.
They seems to have put in quite a lot of effort when it comes to branding. I really think it is pretty cool.
They have an open area with sofas filled with lots of cushions.
I think one can have some pillow fights.
Now back to my birthday celebration, everyone manage to show up except for the host who are still stuck at work.
Well, I don’t blame her. Work always comes first .
I am glad it is a good reason for us to catch up with things we missed out and have some good laugh.
Annoyingly, the topic “when will you get married?” somehow never fails to pop-up somewhere in the conversation.
Which in my case, “when you gonna have a bf?” applies.
Food finally arrived and I must say, it looked good.
The food presentation nailed from every single angle.
Okay, maybe not every single angle, but it still look great in my opinion.
Unfortunately taste wise, it somehow seems lacking.
But for the portion and taste wise, it is surely over-priced.
I don’t think they manage to maintain their food quality standard and their 1 Utama branch serves better food.
Although a small place and less decorations, I think they really do serve better food.
But one thing for sure, they have BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Yes, we have a hard time trying to bring in a birthday cake my uni friends bought for me.
They wanted to charge us a big lump sum of money which is enough to buy another 1/2 cake.
Don’t get me wrong, not allowing us to bring the cake is not the reason why I said their service is BAD.
It is the way they communicated the message which is condescending and unfriendly.
I personally don’t think these are the qualities for someone in the customer service line should have.
And what pisses me off is when they walk away with a super black face while ignoring us and giving me the “complain me if you want” and “I don’t care” face.
It always amazes me how they passed their interview and got hired.
Sigh , this really spoils the fun a little for the night.
So what will happen to the cake?
Let me tell you on the next post!
