I recently complained to my parents that since young, they only brings us to the same place to eat when we visited Seremban.
It’s always pork innards congee, pepper fish head noodles or pork satay.
And this time around, I try to persuade my parents to go discover new foods in Seremban.
My friend from Seremban introduced me to a Seremban dish – Baked Crabs .
After some checking and asking around, my dad brought us to Choy Kee Food Stall.
Apparently, it is a highly recommended place for baked crabs by my dad’s colleague.
The place doesn’t look that posh but as always, we can’t judge good food by the looks of a restaurant!
Since it was our first visit, we tried dishes recommended by the restaurant staff.
The stew pork belly with white radish is simply awesome.
The pork belly is so tender and the radish simply just melts in the mouth!
Together with the thick, rich and flavourful sauce; it goes just so well with white rice.
I seriously gave it a 2 thumbs up!
The steamed fish with dried preserved vegetables is also very yummy.
The fish is very fresh and tender. This is also my first time trying a steam fish cooked this way.
The fish is refreshing and the preserved vegetables saltiness are not too overpowering.
But the best surprise, there is no fishy taste even when there is no ginger included in the dish!
I must praise the chef that throws in a few cili padi which elevates the steam fish dish to a whole new level.
As for the stir fried kangkung belacan, it was great.
I am not sure how should I put it since I don’t talk much about stir fried vegetables as it was pretty common.
The vegetables is crunchy and the belacan taste is so strong.
If there is something I can complain about, probably it is a little too oily.
The star ⭐ dish is finally here – Bake Marmite Crabs .
I personally love it, as most of the time we ordered crab dishes that has strong flavours such as butter cream sauce, butter cheese sauce, salted egg or kam heong.
However, this Baked Marmite Crabs is simply lovely. It has a lightly caramelized marmite taste after the baking.
The dish is quite dry and also have a sweet aftertaste which enhanced the meaty crab taste itself.
The crabs were fresh and are really big!
Super big crabs also comes with a super hefty price tag (RM50 per kilo).
At the end of the meal, my stomach is definitely bursting and I am sure I have gained a few kilos.
But I am sure it is definitely worth gaining that few kilos.
Right before we left, I told my dad “trying new places isn’t such a bad idea” in which dad laughed and nodded.
