Movie Title: 스마트폰을 떨어뜨렸을 뿐인데 (Unlocked)
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (8/10)
Year: 2023
Storyline / Plot:
Na-mi (Chun Woo-hee) a young working woman’s life is in a chaos after she loses her mobile phone. Jun-yeong (Im Si-wan) found Na-mi’s phone and returns it to her and uses it to track her everyday life and learning everything about her.
He then approaches her by concealing his true identity and motives.
Acting & Casting:
The casting director did such a good job in casting all the roles.
Chun Woo-hee and Im Si-wan was spot on for their lead roles. While Si-wan had this gentle and polite look on the surface, his quiet and when he smirks, he sends out chilling, psychotic and eerie vibes.
Both of their act and emotions were on point and bringing us on a rollercoaster emotion ride.
Cinematography and Lighting:
The right amount of suspense and thriller shots and mood.
Love how they build up the mood and tension especially when the leads starts to meet and get to know each other to the point when doubt and scare starts to grow on her.
Script and Music:
The one thing lacking in the movie was the sound or music, despite how the movie made me scream and hide behind the pillow at some point. At least, I admire them for not doing the cheap stunt with a sudden loud scare noise.
The Verdict:
I totally love the suspense and chill it gives me. It has the right amount of scare and relatable to current society who are always on the phone. So much info and security are at risk which we couldn’t care less making all of us a vulnerable victim should we be targeted and this movie should act as is a stern reminder for all of us the danger of technology.
