Backdated post. Actual event took place on 26 May 2006. It was the night to watch the X-Men. We got to see the first show. Hemm… it was not as good as I hope or expect it to be (read my review here) It was a packed day. The cinema was so packed that we have to sit down and wait so long. Thus, we decided to take some pictures. Hehe… right, I saw Winson busy SMS-ing. I thentook his phone and just start snapping. Hahaha… right, well that is what we do. Who ever have a camera phone, we shall flood it. We were quite hungry as we didn’t take dinner before that. We just rush to Sunway Pyramid and watch X-Men. So yeap, we munch on chocolates and popcorns in the cinema. Right after movie, we all sat down at a mamak nearby and ordered our food. While waiting for the food to arrive, obviously there are more reasons to take pictures. Hehe… yeap, take loads of picture of Winson. Yeah, it’s the first time I’m seeing him. He is Gigi’s interns. So yeah, I’ve been chatting with him for a while and I finally get the chance to meet him. A funny guy that likes to joke and share the same hobby like me. Yeah, we all like to watch movie 😀 So right… from now onwards, more of his photos here 🙂 |
FRIENDz-terism
Backdated post. Actual event took place on 07 May 2006. There is always time for Suzi! It’s a great place and I am not bored of going there over and over again.. eating the same food over and over again… posting the same old pictures of the food. I won’t say it’s the best ever place to eat but well… it’s good enough to make me want more and come back. This time around, I am bringing first-timers. Right… first time for Brian, Jon and their friend Andrew. Hehe… Andrew is an intern working in Jon’s place. He is actually from Canada, so yeah… I must bring him try out local food. Wooo.. the otak otak was good! It was marvelous. I wanted more.. more and more… all for myself. Too bad the stall don’t open regularly. Haha… the stall open as they wished I guess. So yeah.. I was pretty lucky. The claypot nasi briyani ayam is cool. Each cook individually in a claypot taste simply cool. It comes with some curry and indian style coslaw. I somehow prefer the claypot nasi briyani kambing more. Hehe.. more spicy The satay was the another I won’t miss out food here. I think it was good. So good that nothing was left on the table. Nothing I must say. Everything was being whacked up. After finish eating.. we sat down, chit chat a little about cultures in canada and over here in malaysia. It was fun at times listening to Andrew’s story. The juciest part, he told us he was one of the cowboys in the restaurant/bar in Brokeback Mountain. No kidding! I still hasn’t watch the movie yet or else I will surely print screen that particular scene and show you guys. So yes… how interesting, I ate dinner with some star! *blink blink* Location: |
Inspired by the movie Lady In The Water, we decided to draw we all have heard of, read of and even watched on TV over and over when we were kids.
Yes, that’s right. You’ve got it right – the mermaid.
It is said to be a half human half fish.
I have not seen one in my lifetime before but there are some to claim they have and it’s true.
And I think the closest thing that are similar to a mermaid is the Merlion, an iconic symbol of Singapore.
A Merlion is a mythical creature with a lion’s head and the body of a fish.
If Singapore has a Merlion, Brian had his own version – Mersheep.
I love the colour tone. The calming and mystical blue gives the illustration a calming feel.
The Mersheep also had a fighting fish vibe which has a long and flowing tail.
The eyes of the Mersheep looks like two fried eggs, which gives it a humorous touch.
While it was always said that mermaids don’t eat fish cause they don’t eat their own kind.
But my version of mermaid is totally different.
She loves to eat seafood and fish 🍣. It’s just like Azli, our ikan (fish) that eats fish 🐠.
Haha , that’s right. Seafood is just too yummy.
And I love this seaweed hairstyle. Who needs hair when you can have seaweed hair.
So green, so IN!
As always, Takeru is fashionably late with his mermaid work.
He submitted his “Oh So Kissable” mermaid.
Takeru is always known for his bold colour choice.
This time, a yellowish gold theme.
From gold hair to scales, so bling, so precious.
A beautiful gem indeed.

Every time I heard of the word Tiki it makes me laugh.
I am not sure why, the feeling just appear every time I heard it.
So I decided to use it as the theme for the week, but I think it must be a hard subject since we are only down to 2 submission.
Don’t worry, the show must go on, so I will still showcase what was submitted.
Brian didn’t fail to amaze me. Instead of a solo tiki, he submitted a couple tiki.
Hmm.. maybe not a couple but it comes in pairs.
It was his sheep troop praying to their sheep tiki called stiki.
I think it was cute especially the one on the right side that looks a little more bull looking.
Nice work! And look forward for more sheep.
I have also submitted a tiki doll that loves a good casual tee and a pair of white adidas shoe.
Finally, something more grunge and messy.
Right, talk about modernism!
Edited on 2nd August 2006
Takeru submitted a very cute tiki, whereby he named it tikitake.
I totally fell in love with the colour combination.
The orange background with bright green tiki.
The little frog sitting on top of the character adds mood and cuteness to the character.
I especially love the wood grain texture that Takeru adds in.
Love, love love it. Para salute to him!

Another birthday dinner, this time it’s my little twin, Gigi’s birthday.
It was quite a mixed emotion celebration, as we are combining both a happy birthday celebration for Gigi and a farewell dinner for Evan.
Evan has moved to the States and was back for a week or so, and he’s going to leave town again now.
This was the first and last time I am meeting him this time round since he was back.
Brian is the CEO (Chief Event Organizer) for this birthday dinner gathering and he booked a table in advance at Senditos Tapas.
Jon picked me up from office while Brian picked up Gigi and Winson.
We arrived first, followed by Brian since the birthday girl needs extra time to dress up .
It’s her big day after all. so dressing up is a must.
When we arrive, the waitress seated us at a cozy corner.
While waiting, we ordered their signature drink, Sangria which is a delicious concoction of fruit juices, soda water, ice, fruit slices and either red or white wine that the waitress has introduced to us.
We also ordered a non-alcoholic version for Gigi since she can’t take alcohol.
We start ordering the moment the host and the birthday girl arrived as we are all seriously hungry.
Since we have quite a bit of people, we get to order many different type of tapas to share.
Some of it was funky and was something that I have tried for the first time.
Tapas are generally small portions of hot or cold food served as part of the social scene in Spanish bars.
So yes, it’s more like small bites or snacks to go with beer and wine which is just great.
We ordered quite a number of dishes that has scallops in it since Gigi loves scallops!
By the end of the dinner, we were all full already and with the birthday cake we were burping and rubbing our tummy.
Brian took out the lovely square green tea cake with red bean cake.
While it is very Japanese style flavour, I still think it is a weird combination.
The strong green tea taste with a little bitter aftertaste and the sweet red bean taste.
While I find it weird, I must admit their decoration for the cake is on point.
Since Alan can’t join for dinner since he have to work overtime, then we asked him to join us for our next round.
We went to Brewball for some drinks and a few round of pool.
At Brewball, we took turns to play 2-3 rounds each before we sat down to chat with Evan.
It has been a while since we met so we have quite a bit to talk about.
It was a great night of games and chats since we it has been a while all of us can make it together to a gathering.
I guess we will have to wait another 5-6 months till the next time we can all gather together again since Evan will only be back by then.

This is one of dinner meals together before our movie days 🎬.
It is the time when we just eat, talk, drink and do stuffs to humour each another.
This week’s movie is something I am highly anticipating since Sweet November.
That’s right! Another Keanu Reeves romantic movie.
We decided to head to Genki Sushi since Winson wanted Japanese food.
He loves Japanese food and everyone can tell from his looks.
Me, Winson and Alan arrived first since Gigi had dinner at home while Yaow decided to head home for a quick shower first.
Since Gigi didn’t eat, she is in control of the camera and snap all the way.
Winson who is seated opposite her was an easy target.
He was forced to make funny faces that keeps everyone entertained while being shot 📸.
Instead of comparing who have bigger eyes, Gigi decided on the sad face theme.
Gigi was a natural when it comes to the sad face portrait, while Winson play along with her this time.
The others have natural talent too!
Ok, let’s go before we had too much fun and miss the show.

Doink… and out comes jack in the box. I always think it was scary. As a kid or even now. I still don’t understand how people could think clown that hides in a box as cute, funny and nice. I just finds it scary. Probably it has been overused in scary or horror movies back in the 80’s. But then anyhow, let’s see our own jack in the box. Jaebot is back. This time around he have this cool ZiZou in Ze Box. With the current hot headbutting issue. I just love how he put and fully use the issue and put in nicely in to the topic. Brilliant and totally cool! But I still support you ZiZou. Headbutt man.. headbutt! Takeru’s jack in the box is currently Jack Out To Lunch Box. Hahaha… Just so cute, we needs a break, Jack needs a break too. Guess Jack will be back when Jack is done with lunch. Jimbo is awaken again. This time, a new cutie character. A totally bone lover. Constantly biting a bone and imagine that jumping out of the box. Totally love the colour play and I still want the tee! I manage to submit my Meekey in the bin. Hehehe… I just tot it would be run to do a cute and cuddly mouse jumping out form a bin. Yeah… a Mickey wannabe. Everybody love Mickey! So yeah, pay some attention to Meekey too okay! Right… miss Brian’s sheeps in action? Yeah.. he is sorta busy for the day and well… I’ll just add in tomorrow. So stay tune! *added on July 26th* Yeay Brian finally manage to submit his Sheep Outabox. Due to the late submission, I guess his sheepo sorta do the Flinstone’s style and runs here quickly. As scary as it can be, it finally set foot in our Crossroad submission. Bravo! What is up next week? Anyone and everyone is welcome to join. Be it good or bad… it’s just something we do for fun! Generate some cool ideas and well.. surely fill up some of our boring times 😀 Click on the banner go link to the project crossroad gallery. |
Wee…. samurai *chop chop chop*. The furious, the masters of sword. Everyone somehow known the samurais for their great sword fighting. The long and sharp sword. This week, we hereby honour our fellow samurais by ilustrating our version of little samurai. Radio, a friend of takeru emailed me a cool yet funky samurai. I totally love the colour play witht he funky colour. Not to even mention there is a hidden word in the illustration. Hehe… I found the word dy… so did you find the word? Takeru just keep making me say wow from week to week with his cool illustrations. This week he submited his Takeru Samu which literally means Master Takeru. Right… I gotta bow to the master for his skillful illustration skills. Totally love the red background! Brian submited his cute little sheep samurai. Hehe…. with two egg look-a-like eyes and hehe kiddo samurai sword, the little sheep look just so stunning and adorable. Samurai Kick! Way to go man! I also manage to submit my own version of samurai. With the touches of chinese caligraphy mixed with some western style. I can’t help to use some of the rough brush edges lines ad I notice it give a more asian feel to the illustration. What is up next week? Anyone and everyone is welcome to join. Be it good or bad… it’s just something we do for fun! Generate some cool ideas and well.. surely fill up some of our boring times 😀 Click on the banner go link to the project crossroad gallery. |
Backdated post. Actual event took place on 25 April 2006. Right… after chatting and messaging and go back and forward reading GhOsT’s blog… I finally get to meet him in person. Hehe.. he decided to come down to kl for a quick tour. Hemmm actually yeah, he had a busy Genting schedule so yeah, apperently he just drop by kl with his friend Willment, went shopping around klcc a little and have dinner with me and gigi and then straight away rush up to Genting. Well… how did I landed myself on GhOsT’s blog you may ask… hemmm… it was well by coincidence I may say. Everyone who follows my blog by now should know I am a huge fans of Andy Lau (right.. I am bringing Andy back to live in my blog). Eventually Andy came down to Malaysia to wrap up his Vision Tour right on my birthday’s eve. The next day, I was busy looking around the Internet for Andy Lau’s Malaysia concert pictures which is how I stumble into his blog. Right… I needed pictures to finish up my posting about my experience in the concert (click to read about the concert). Yes, if you revisit the link you will notice I took a few pictures from GhOsT’s site (Yes, you should read it). Which is where I started to look see look see and peek around his blog. Ah… what a coincidence eh… hemmm who knows.. maybe we walk pass each other at the concert.. who knows. But well, at least this time I met him for real, the first time. Haha… he is so shy (much to my surprise). Yup, despite the way he answer his comments and chat and well the great stories that he tells in his blog. I guess his friend Willment talks more than he does. Hehe… p/s – you might be wondering how come I cover GhOsT’s face with a Garfield face eh. Hemm.. how rude of me . Ermmm actually it’s by request. Hehe… he woud prefer to remain anonymous. Ermmm… Don’t ask me why as I think he would do a better explanation than I do.
