Backdated post. Actual event took place on 18 April 2006. It wasn’t such a good thing. I guess it’s the first time after 9 months of working in my current company that it rained during lunch time and we weren’t able to leave to building. Thus, we will have to eat later, which will be very late since we went down around 1-ish or eat at the hotel. Right! My office is located in a hotel building. Yes I know it sounds weird but well, it isn’t that weird after all. We decided to dine at Maya Brasserie. It’s a nice place, Well at least I like the black marble walls with the bamboo touch. Best of all big mirror to make it look bigger and not to mention, girls always love mirrors. We all ordered ala carte. I ordered Fettucine cabonara as I have such cravings for italian food. Hehe…. It was alright however I think the sauce was rather thick which makes me feel full very quickly, but I must say, they really put in loads of ingrediants like bacon, mushroom and chicken. Ah… so full. Loh ordered this Chicken with Sweet Potato. I know… well, it sounds a little weird. I mean the combination. I think it seems weird as I dunno… I never really try this sorta thing but the presentation does look interesting. A cylinder shaped deep fried sweet potato topped with grilled chicken. There were loads of vege and mushroom covering the chicken. I almost felt like swapping food with him! Ah.. yes, the most expensive lunch (to date) in my new company! Backdated post. Actual event took place on 16 April 2006. Time of the month to celebrate some birthdays. Hehe… Yeah…. I just love to celebrate birthdays. Thinking of the new places I will be exposed to.. and not to mention the good food and the good company I am going to get while dining. I believe in order to taste the best food in life, besides good recommendation, there is a lot of factors that determine it. For instances, good companion… I won’t like to dine with someone who eats two piece and say they are full or on diet. I dun like people keep telling me.. this is fattening and lecture me on calories while eating. Good ambience… it’s not like I don’t eat at the roadside stalls and all… I do but then again… there is alot of factor that define the ambience… for instances I dun like rats and roaches as company. Quality food… I dislike eating expensive and food that I felt people who only knows how to cook maggie can do better than that. Last but not least, the mood to eat. Well, I always like to someone to tell me earlier on some outing to eat coz I have this habit of having an idea of what I can create the mood to eat. Yes, if I don’t have the mood to eat, I just can’t eat… but when I do… I can eat like mad. Yah… people that sees me eat plates and plates and plates… hahaha.. you know what I mean! Back to the topic again (yeah, I am good at diverting stories)… it’s Wai Khiong’s birthday and this time around, we celebrated it at a Nak Won Korean Restaurant located at Desa Sri Hartamas. It’s located at some quite quiet place which I have no idea actually any stalls were located there. Well.. the shop is located behind Soda Disco. Yah… in order to park and enter the place, you will have to drive in to the car park located next to Soda. Well… forgive me for not taking any front shots of the shop as we were late for the party. Hahaha… yup, I can conveniently blame it on Jerry as he comes and pick me up late! Yeay~ Well, I guess he is not really in the mood that day as his girlfriend could not make it to the dinner. But well… when we arrive, every arrived and guess what… food is served! Talk about the right timing! Jessy is the organizer for this time birthday dinner. She ordered loads of stuff. We have so much people that we break in to 2 tables. Our table manage to have Charcoal Grilled BBQ beef while Wai Khiong’s table have the lamb as most of the people there doesn’t take beef. The beef was superb. It was tender and the meat absorbs the marinate sauce so well. We have Charcoal Grilled BBQ chicken and Charcoal Grilled BBQ pork as well. Yeah… food was simply fantastic. Everyone simply just can’t have enough of it. But well… like I say, I still prefer the beef to the other meats which well.. I normally prefer pork! The loads of small plates of appertizers makes me go crazy ! Every one of it tasted so different yet delicious. The best part, it’s refillable. We refilled and refilled almost like everything. And eat and eat and eat and munch and munch. I can’t tell you how much I love the kimchi’s and the spinach with sesame seed! Ah…. I want more and more and more! Besides that, Jessy also ordered the Steam Egg. It was somehow unique. It tasted a little like Chawan-mushi. The texture and the filling is almost the same except this one tasted a little lighter. Hehe… not many guys on the table likes this stuff. They say it tasted weird and they are not used to steamed eggs. Everyone of us have our own bowl of Kimchi Beef Soup. I think it is a complimentary dish. It tasted fantastic and I must say… it is the main highlight of the day! Yes… nothing on the table can beat the taste of this soup. The beef taste with the spicy yet a little soury taste. Ah… I simply just love it. I wish they serve extra 3 bowls per pax. They even end the occasion with some traditional Korean dessert. I have no idea what it was… they say it was some rice water. Well, it actually looked and tasted like barley to me. No idea, there isn’t anything I can investigate with as it’s purely water and has nothing inside for me to look around at. Well.. some might like it… some might not. For sure Jerry didn’t enjoy his meal as he was complaining all the way. Well, he’s the type that must have proper meal like rice… and rice kind of person. I don’t know, He doesn’t fancy steamboat, he doesn’t fancy grilling or BBQ stuff, he doesn’t really fancy buffet. Hahaha.. don’t ask me what he likes. I guess he would love Chinese food, since he love to eat rice. Haha… Well… since the night is still early, we then went for second round right behind the restaurant. We went to have drinks at Coffee Bean (right next to Breakers). Yeah… more pictures next post! NAK WON KOREAN RESTAURANT Tel: 03-6201 3004/016-225 9800. Business Hrs: Daily (11am-11pm). |
Backdated post. Actual event took place on 11 April 2006. That’s right. We finally make it to the Winter Warmer’s Coffee and Tea House. It’s been a talk and a vision for us to go there to have tea.. since like.. ages ago. Well it remains as a talk only since we always go for late dinner and not to mention this place close rather early for us. We either haven’t finish our dinner or well, we just wasn’t in luck. I totally love the serious english look in at the place. From the wallpaper to the colour scheme. It is totally interesting. Not to even mention the pottery they have inside with the big floral patterns on it. Simply interesting. It does give a very warm and cottage feel to it. Gigi ordered Rose Coffee that comes in a mug that has rose floral on it. The coffee was topped with whipped cream and dried rose bud. Ah… I can smell the rose smell from the place I was sitting. I ordered something more common. Iced peach tea. Well.. it turned out not common at all. Just as my drink arrive I can smell the peach smell over powering other smell. It surely have a very strong peach taste to it. In addition to it, the peach flavoured jellies were so chewy. It gives the drink an extra kick! Brian ordered mix fruit tea. The colour at first look like ribena to me as it was rather purple. It was interesting how it was being served. Eventually the tea was served in a pot. In the cup there were apple cubes with something that seems like syrup. I didn’t actually taste it as I was busy with my own drink. Yummie. We didn’t manage to stay late as the place close rather early (erm.. to our lepaking standards). Yes, they close around 11pm. 🙂 Oh yeah, incase you are wondering about the pinches and the blueblacks. It all really did happen. Yes… the pinching and biting session seriously took place. And the blueblacks.. it does exist (not photoshoped). But well… the blueblack mark was a result of previous pinching sessions from brian. Hahaha… well, to be honest… both have the same amount of blueblacks on their arms. Well.. it always happen. You guys will just have to get used to it as I am totally immuned to the senario and looking at it. So yes… don’t drop your jaws and pop your eyes. See… they were always so excited to meet one another :D.

Backdated post. Actual event took place on 11 April 2006. A night after work where we decided to head to The Curve to have dinner. It’s been a long while and a long plan… I guess for those who have been following I have mentioned we wanted to have dinner and followed by having english tea for a long time. And yes… 11 April 2006 is the mark of the memorable day.. where we successfully manage to have dinner AND have tea after dinner. Hahaha… me and gigi arrived only to find out that brian was in the car talking on the phone.. just 2 parking lot away. Busy talking and talking on the phone.. he left us waiting and walking around. Obviously he has to be punished and thus he was forced to choose a place for us to dine in. Haha… he quickly pointed to ah Tuan ee’s Place. A Nonya restaurant which serves tasty nonya food. I came here once during my ex-company New Year Dinner. I quite like the surrounding as it is not really noisy and it looks clean. Best of all the warm and welcoming wall colours and the antique wooden decos they have inside. We then each order something to share out. Brian ordered the green curry chicken. They say it tasted a little bit weird. I think it tasted alright except the fact that the ginger smell over powers everything. Well… it does taste very much different from the mamak or chinese style of cooking green curry chicken. Gigi ordered the stir fried long beans with sambal belacan. Which in my opinion taste the best of all the dishes we ordered. I ordered the Chai Po egg. It tasted like normal Chai Po egg… except the fact that they put too much pepper in it. But I must really credit on them putting a dash of sesame oil to bring out the aroma. Ah….. lovely . We then head down to Winter Warmer’s for a cup of tea but well… since L B ask me to slow it down on the food… I will post it maybe tomorrow~ 😉 ah Tuan ee’s Place address: Tel: 03-7710 0603). |
Backdated post. Actual event took place on 07 April 2006. Ah… the night before the long anticipated food trip to malacca. As usual… fridays is a day where we all as a figure of speech would thank god it’s friday. Yeah… so I always do believe in pampering one self every friday. Eat good food… party or hang out a little. Well.. at least at the present state… I believe that is called enjoying life. Who knows, I might change. Who can tell… but well.. good food… that would never change for sure unless I am one day very very sick! Me and Gigi drives up to this place called the rib shop, which has been highly promoted by my boss and fellow colleagues. Everyone told me how good the ribs are… how big the portions is. Ah… so mouth watering that I decided to eat… eat… and eat… all the ribs there. They told me, it would be hard to get tables as it is normally full during dinner time. But well… guess it’s our lucky day as we were practically late as I have some work to do.. and by the time we reach… the place was almost empty except for 2 tables. There were a long list of stuffs on the menu but all I was eyeing on was just the ribs. I mean… well.. I dunno.. I felt weird going to a rib shop ordering fish and chips or whatever nonsense. It’s like just weird… unless I have allergy towards ribs… then maybe. I finally made up my mind.. which normally takes me a long time. Yeah… my mind need to battle with stomach. There is always everything I want to try but my stomach just can’t fill all of it. 🙁 I ordered the barbecue ribs and a cappuccino. Gigi ordered Barbecue ribs with prawns and her favourite latte. Hahaha… I cannot tell you how much Gigi loved the latte here. She keep repeating and telling me how smooth it tasted. As a person who don’t really drink coffee and well… I think I am allergic to it. Yeah no kidding… it gets my heart beating so fast that it hurts my chest badly if I drink strong coffee… so… well… I am not that sure. It just taste like latte… yeah, it’s nice but the smooth part.. I dunno. But I trust Gigi.. haha.. she is a latte lover. Well.. I would think they really have ermmm.. ahhaa funny waiters. They asked me if I wanted dessert. I said, ” No, thank you.” and the waiter replied me “We don’t sell thank you.” and smile. And all I ever do was shocked and looked at him. Okay.. back to the food… Oh yeah, I will start with the sides first. The coselaw was superb. THe dressing is so rich and thick. Oooo… if you really do have cravings for mayo… this really is your thing! The mash potato.. ah… so thick and smooth. Yes… very smooth… it melts in the mouth like almost that instant you put it in your mouth. AH… the milk and butter taste in the potatoes topped with the barbecue sauce from the ribs.. *oh so heavenly* There were a generous amount of ribs. It was mrinated to perfection. Ah…. I can feel the barbecue sauce in every single bite of the ribs. HELP ME!!!! Well… the rib shop is actually located next to the wine shop, which is linked to the rib shop to allow customers to select their choices of wines to be enjoyed together with their meals, for a more sensational dining feel to their satisfaction. Birthday, and more birthday celebrations.
This time around, it’s Jane aka. bunny’s 🐰 birthday, and we decided to try out Mongolian cuisine.
Shirley recommended this place since she heard many good reviews and personally tried a few of the dishes here.
This is actually my first time trying out Mongolian dishes and I guess there is always a first time to everything.
I was greeted by a big red signboard stated Inner Mongolia Restaurant when I got down from my car.
From the outlook, it seems more like a China Chinese restaurant and it got me even more curious.
Many thoughts float by, as I started to wonder what Mongolian food taste like.
The closest to my imagination was the drama series like Genghis Khan but never actually tried any before.
All I know was they are famous for their lambs and muttons dishes.
The way you see these dishes being cooked on TV is no joke!
We ordered their famous Mongolian Hotpot.
It is a dish where you cook the thinly sliced frozen meat and briefly cook in the hotpot (we in Malaysia called it steamboat). The meat is then dipped in this special sauce that is so fragrant. It’s called Qi Xing Xiao Liao (Seven Stars).
According to the waitress, the sauce is made of sesame paste, chopped leeks, fermented bean curd, chili oil, and some other ingredients.
The tender meat taste just so good together with the sauce.
The best part is when they allow you to add in pounded chili sauce if you want spicy food!
We ordered a mix hotpot as some of the people couldn’t take spicy food.
We ordered the Stir Fry 3 Type Mushroom 🍄 as Jane loves vegetables 😙.
On top of that we order Roasted Lamb Shank, which in my opinion it tasted like a mixture in between rendang and tandoori.
I must say the meat is amazing as it is so tender and it just melts in the mouth.
Chris kept recommending us to try the Roasted Meatballs, he mentioned he could eat a few bowl of rice with this dish.
Shirley was quick to stop him which creates a good laugh for everyone when they looked at Chris’s innocent and sad face 😥.
In the end, we ordered a few more small side dishes as desserts and snacks.
We ordered their Spring Onion Pastry which taste and feel just like roti canai.
It is very light and fluffy and is well seasoned.
The spring onion taste is also very fragrant.
The Chopped Spring Onions with Egg Pancake had a much stronger taste which some may not like.
The amount of spring onions are also so much more than the spring onion pastry.
We ordered a sweet pastry as dessert which I have no idea what it was.
It was an instant hit among the gang. Everyone loved it!
From its taste, it feels like red bean paste wrapped with sweet potato, which was then deep fried.
It tasted so good and crunchy, but we are glad it is not that sweet. The sweetness is just all right.
Our stomach capacity were totally maxed out but everyone agrees that it was a yummy dinner.

It’s time of the month for birthdays again. Yes… birthdays is the best thing that happen next to christmas. Yeah… good food… good people… good enough reason to celebrate. This time around is Jon’s birthday and well.. it has been planned weeks ahead on this occasion.
Hahaha…. Jessy tricked Jon telling him she is dating him to go for dinner. Me… hahaha… I being so silly calling Jon midnight of 26th wishing him happy birthday when his actual birthday is on the 29th. I then quickly cover up and asked Jon to go malacca… to celebrate his birthday (knowing he would say NO since he already promised Jessy to go for the dinner). Well.. I pretend to be frustrated and well.. I even manage to merajuk at Jon for not dating me for dinner. Hahaha…
Well… Jon and the gang arrived early to Jogoya. Me, Jerry and his girlfriend was sorta late We bump into Brian at the main door, pay and get in and get ready to eat! Just as I was about to set my butt down… Jon look at me and laughed. Hahaha…. mmm… maybe he was expecting a personal date… when suddenly everyone pop up to spoil his dating experience. Hahaha… Jon then look at me again and knew I called him and tricked him .
Hehe… without delay.. I just stood up and grab whatever food that appeals to me. Seriously there is this huge and lots of selection. Raw, grilled, fried, steamed, soup, bake… whatever… you name it they have it. Better even they have loads to choose from and constantly refilled food and drinks. It was superb.
I ate non-stop for like 4 hours. Yes… I am not kidding when I said NON-STOP.. and if you get hold of anyone at the pictures above and asked them… I ain’t kidding.. and I seriously ate alot. Not those… 1 or 2 piece of food on the plate. Hahaha… yes… I make the money spent worthwhile. I had seriously bad craving for sashimi and thus.. I think I had 4 plates of sashimi before I went for main courses.
Don’t ask me what food I have had besides sashimi coz the only times I stood up and took something… was the sashimi. Other than that.. they picked and order and brought to the table… and all I ever do is steal someone elses food. Hahaha… why hassle to walk here and there when food is delivered to the doorstep… I mean… table.
It was a filling and great dinner. *burpz*
The pictures din turn out very well as the place was rather dark and ermmm non of us bring camera. Hahaha.. yeah true to the core that everyone is relying on their camera phones. Worst case senario… my camera was spoilt and my phone is out of battery. Hence… I din take any pictures at all.
All the pictures above was take with Chris and Jon’s camera phone.

This new KFC O.R Chicken Chop has make it big chaos in this fast food industry thing. Yes, everyone is talking about it since they lauched their ads. I think by now, most blogs have a written review about it and well… I guess I am as usual… known for my fashionably late reviews.
Ah… KFC… yes it’s always the nicest words to listen to when I have cravings for chicken. Fried Chicken to be precise. Many people look at this O.R Chicken Chop as a con as it’s set is retailed at RM9.90 per set (tax not included). The set comes with a regular soft drink, a chicken chop, a box of mushroom sauce, fries and coleslaw.
I think this chicken chop set is rather pricy when comparing the price we are paying with the portions that we got. I bet a plate of chicken chop at some mamak or hawker stalls is cheaper with bigger portions.. and yes… for sure it is unfair to compare it this way. Thus, I am comparing KFC O.R Chicken Chop with their KFC Snack Plate. Judging at the size of their food… and price… The Snack Pates are at better deal… with.. well… more meat. I dunno if I am a big eater or what… but I just felt this chicken chop fails to nail my cravings for chicken. I guess it’s good as a snack but not for main courses.
Anyway… looking at the picture… I only want to say… I had only like 12 sticks of fries on my plate . I mean… 12 sticks! Potatoes is either getting expensive or someone stole my fries!
Yes.. as for the taste part…. the gravy tasted like the mashed potatoes gravy with some sliced canned button mushrooms. And the chicken with the gravy…. not exectly a great combo as O.R chicken itself doesn’t really have the crispy skin to begin with.. and when added the sauce on to it… everything turns soggy and well practically it looks ugly! The part that I couldn’t tolerate… the sauce over powers the chicken taste itself making me taste like I am eating a while plate of mashed potatoes.
Well… I wouldn’t in exect words say it’s a con… since from day 1… everything labeled with O.R is smaller than other KFC stuffs… example… the O.R chicken is smaller than the Hot and Spicy chicken. The O.R burger (smaller than my palm) is smaller than other burgers in KFC… what more you expect from O.R Chicken Chop? Just well… sack your “Taste and Approve Department” (no idea what you called that) and pump in new blood.

It’s one of those days we relax a little, which means less workload for the day, sit back with everyone in the office have a long and laid back lunch. Prem have this craving to eat this Indian Food Promotion when he saw the poster in the lift saying there is “Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern Indian Cruisine”. Yes.. he had been explaining alot about the foods to me each time we are in the lift.
The thing was suppose to happen on Monday but well.. eventually I took breakfast and decided to skip lunch. Hahaha.. yes, I was being blamed for not making it happen on Monday… but is it really my fault when there is not prior notice?
Haha… as usual… we went on the last day of the promotion and we decided to whack as much curry as possible. As usual… I wasn’t really aware that today is the day we go eat buffet… I dunno.. at least my stomach wasn’t really ready for it.
We walked downstairs and *ta da* reached. Hahaha.. yes… it is actually super duper near my office. Well to be precise, my office is located there. We were being served and to my pleasant surprise, most the staffs is wearing traditional Indian costumes. We sat down chit chat a little before we decided to grab some food to eat. They have loads of stuff being served there…. ermm… okay when I say loads.. it’s not like 70-80 stuffs to choose from, but enough to make me stand there thinking what I want to take and eat.
I dunno… I wasn’t really in the mood for eating.. since the past few days… so I anyhow take something that looks good. As we were talking… the food pictures taken above is the only stuff I had for lunch. Hahaha… everything was sorta okay on the first plate I took except for the fried sweet potato. That gets a big no no from me as it tasted weird and I dunno how to express it… just not the normal fried sweet potato that I have ever tasted.
Woohoo… the second plate is the best part. I totally love the baby lobster curry. Mmmm, the curry is just so sweet.. not the sugar sweet but it’s being filled with the sweetness of the baby lobster. Yummmmm yumm.. the moment I sat down and wanted to enjoy it, Azli came back to tell that it’s finished and they have replaced the baby lobster with crabs. *boo hooo hoo… no more lobster*
I dunno… I felt super full from that 2 plates of stuff and decided to go for desserts. Yes.. I have sweet tooth. I love sweet stuff. Let’s hope I dun die from diabetis. THe fruit tart has always been my favourite. I dunno.. the colour appeals and the best part… fruits~
The tiramisu was alright but well… I still prefer the pudding to the tiramisu. Reason why… ermm… I guess their tiramisu is lack of coffee taste and surely doesn’t have any bailey’s in it *teeheee heee.. alcohol rulez*
I think RM55++ for the buffet was rather expensive… considering I eat so little… but hahahaa… it’s on the house… oppsss… I mean office. Hehe.. so three cheers to the office *cheers, cheers, cheers* *faints from excessive alcohol consumption*

After spending more than a week in Malaysia, Nicole will be leaving us soon.
Well, not that soon actually. The fact that it seems shorter was due to her going to party with her friends in Port Dickson.
Thus, she will be leaving our place tomorrow. And I guess the next time I see her will be in the next 1/2 a year or so.
She decided to treat me and my sis for dinner. She was hoping that we would choose something expensive, but unfortunately it’s always taste over price for us.
Hmmm, maybe we should have sharpen our knives and slaughter her but since she hasn’t had local food for such a long time, we decided to go for Bak Kut Teh nearby.
While this is not the best in KL, it was one of the decent Bak Kut Teh in our areaa.
It is definitely above average, and with Nicole around the ratio of meat vs. greens wiill never be balanced.
We had a pot of Bak Kut Teh with extra mushrooms since my sister loves mushrooms, ordered a pot of drunken chicken which had strong dose of Chinese wine, steamed tofu, loads of “yau char kwai” in which Nicole just love to dip in soup and vegetables.
Incase you have not noticed, it will always be full of food and eating post especially when Nicole is in town 😂.
