Jingle bell, jingle bell..
I am in the x’mas mood!
Stars are shining brightly everywhere.. snowman popping up like mushrooms..
And I just can’t help it when everywhere is so nicely decorated..
All malls are full-on decorating the malls, from The Gardens
The cozy cabin looking theme lives up to it’s standard and is simply interesting
Bangsar Village is by far somewhat disappointing given that they simply just dump some hot air balloon with gifts
But.. it’s sister, Bangsar Village II did a far better job partnering with Lego. Most of the cnristmas decorations are created with Lego.
From wreaths, ornaments to snowflakes..
Being someone who loves to eat, I also try out many christmas themed food.
From the donuts..
To Auntie Anne’s cheesy turkey pretzels,
Burp.. now even decorations in some mall’s can’t help but to agree with me.
Bangsar Shopping Centre has this “GIANT” Christmas Dinner
And most malls have lollipops and ice-cream hanging on the Christmas trees, some even have apples.
Yes, I thought I was dreaming at first.. but nope.. it’s true~
Ah… that’s like flying me to cloud 9, which is what Sunway Pyramid did.
Their fairy wings decoration does capture lots od attention. Yes, I wanna fly and be an angel too..
Midvalley and KLCC chose a more fun approach.. they both have one of my favourite element in it
With Midvalley showcasing the musical and carnival side.
Merry-go-round!! Love~ love.. love~
And the paper ornaments, too clutter and busy, but superlove..
While KLCC is all about teddy bears and nutcrackers.
OMG!! Yes, I love nutcrackers. I hope someday I can have like and extensive collection of it in different sizes
Phewwww… chill mandy, chill!
Even bubble teas make an effort to spread the season greetings
After all the exciting mall Christmas decoration hunting, this one mall brings us all back to reality..
Yes, while most santa and santarina are young and energetic.. they do grow old
But nevertheless, we still do love them deeply
Now yes.. Merry Christmas everyone!
And what better way to start a great celebration than to make my very own hot chocolate candycane drink!
After a whole day of walking, exploring and shopping for the first day, we decided to call it a quit.
But we needed to ensure we end with a bang, and what better way than ending it with good food.
After all, eating is one of the reason that keeps me walking on for the whole day.
We literally had our last “dinper” (dinner/supper) before we head back to hotel.
We walked passed this chaa chan teng , Tsui Wah Restaurant 翠華集團 which somehow seems so close to heart.
It seems like I’ve been there before but mainly through TVB, and I am finally here.

Hong Kong-style Milk Tea is a definite must try when in Hong Kong.
After all it is the country’s signature drink if not national drink.
In my opinion, you are only forgiven for not trying if you are caffeine or lactose intolerant.
Almond Milk Tea and Eight Treasure Tea seems to be quite commonly served drinks at most cha chaan teng in Hong Kong, and this is what my cousin-in-law ordered.
While I personally don’t quite like the “cockroach taste” Almond Tea, many seems to find it enjoyable.
Well, not that it has cockroach in it, and not like I had tasted one before 😂.
I know what you’re thinking, and no, I did not come up with the term.
It’s a common term among my friends. LOL!
Being a pork lover, I couldn’t resist myself from ordering anything pork.
This is one of the few country, finding pork-filled food is as simple as ABC.
I mean, seriously… I just have to end my day right with overload of pork!
What better than braised pork with dumpling noodle soup!
This might not be the best in the world dish or restaurant. But I am satisfied and feel contented!
Soft and tender braised pork *slurp slurp*.. pork dumpling with flavorful rich pork bone soup.
Arghh… now I wish I tapau-ed some back!
While we didn’t manage to try the roadside fish ball stalls, we still ordered some to try out.
The different variety of fish balls in seaweed soup is really different.
The seaweed definitely adds the “sea flavour” to the whole dish.
As for the fish balls, they all have different texture.
But I must say, the fried ones are more my style. After all, I love the crunchy skin with bouncy feeling.
My cousin… oh my cousin! She of course, has a stronger hongkie taste in her than me.
She opted for the Hong Kong-style Cheese baked Rice with Pork Chop.
Which I did steal a bite or two. I mean, how could I resist… a combination of all good things in one.
Yes… oozing cheese! Pork Chop! Button Mushrooms! and of course the Tomato Sauce!
Damn! Sometimes I just wish I had four stomach.. and well, that I won’t get fat from just eating and eating and eating.
*ooo la la*, seriously.. nothing can go wrong with XO sauce.
If it ever happens, the cook should just never try to cook… ever again!
I mean right, it’s a multi-purpose sauce.. created using more than 10 premium ingredients to create such a luxury sauce.
A dash of the XO sauce will instantly brings the dish to stardom.. probably brings the seafood and meat back alive!
So yes, bet you can guess we simply wallop everything… till the very last grain of rice of this fried rice with XO sauce
*nom nom nom* braised pork and dumpling is not enough to kill the crave.
I needed something more… something that has pork. Something familiar, something I grew up with..
Yes maam, that’s gotta be luncheon meat.
We ordered fried rice with luncheon meat and kalian. And it was lovely! The crunchy kalian stem does give an extra texture to the dish itself.
Burp! *rubs tummy*
We needed to walk the dinner off a little, but everywhere I turned to are more shopping malls and they are all calling out to me.
Isn’t that scary?
Aww.. no, don’t be silly. It’s just the night view of Causeway Bay.
But wait, look what I found.
OMG OMG OMG!! Gachapon machines.
They used to be found easily everywhere and anywhere.
But now, they seems like relics and had became incredibly hard to find in Hong Kong nowadays.
And it was so sad, I can’t find anything I specifically like 😭.
Just before we reached our hotel, I saw quite a lot of protest banners.
Wonder what it’s all about, but judging from the TVB series plots, this should be quite mild.
Mmm.. I’m hungry! I want food!
I’ve been saving all my stomach spaces to try out the local Hong Kong cuisines.
And the moment we saw Hong Kong style restaurants.. we immediately gone crazy!
Right.. Tai Hing Restaurant (太興飲食集團) somehow manages to stood out among the others.
For me, it’s clear that their logo are of my favourite colour.
And to add.. the amount of nicely roasted ducks, goose and chicken are enough to lure me
To add, they have big fat juicy chunks of roast and BBQ pork at the background
And that does it for me.
Ah… yes.. such a beautiful sight isn’t it?
I know… I am kinda shallow. I tend to die in the hands of good looking food.
I can hear them all calling my name~
Can you?
Bet you can’t believe that I gave them a pass over processed meat 😀
Now, this is one of the sets from the Breakfast Set G (HKD29)
Which includes vermicelli noodles soup with preserved cabbage and shredded pork noodles + toast with scrambled eggs
Ooo… which I find the combination quite funny.
Yes, quite fusion in my opinion. Asian style noodles with western style toast.
But hmm… who cares, so long as it tasted good.
Me and my cuz.. yes, of course great mind thinks alike.
And with our undying love for luncheon meat…
We both decided on Breakfast Set E (HKD29)
Which includes luncheon meat and scrambled eggs instant noodles.
Oh yes, can see her happy and contented look right? Now who wouldn’t!
I’m seriously have no clue what luncheon meat they use.
But I can for sure tell it tasted so damn good.
Even better than those type we found in Malaysia.
With the chunk of meats and it’s rough meaty texture *saliva drips*
Yes, the luncheon meat in Hong Kong is something to die for.
And I ate like there’s no tomorrow! *fat, fat*
To me, and probably my cute cousin..
Hong Kong is the land of french toast. Probably land of luncheon meat too.
But right.. the deep fried bread… done to perfection.
Look how golden brown it was 🙂
So yes, we ordered the french toast with butter (HKD20)
With a dash of butter right in the middle.
Oh.. and did I mention, I love how my cuz professionally poured the maple syrup.
Pretty isn’t it?
Well.. it tasted good, crispy on the outside.. soft inside
But I was somewhat disappointed. Yup… sadden by the fact that there wasn’t any peanut butter in the center.
I’m sorry but yes… peanut butter make hell lots of difference.
Yes.. you know.. the moment you cut it.. the melted peanut butter oozing out.
And you get the mixture of sweetness from the maple syrup, saltiness from the peanut butter, the aroma and smoothness from the melted butter.
Ooo.. it just blends in so well.
Although I was a little disappointed with the French Toast.. the iced yin yong (iced milk coffee mixed with tea), or I should say chilled yin yong (HKD3 to upgrade drinks from breakfast set) manages to brighten up my day.
The first time milk tea served to me in this manner, which I pretty much like.
You get a chilled drink, without the ice diluting the milk tea.
And yes.. this might not be the best milk tea in Hong Kong.
But beyond comparison to the ones in Malaysia.
But then again, me being me… I need my super kau-kau coffee. Hence I opted for iced coffee at the same cost.
Ah… *rub tummy*
Let’s start to plan where to shop! Haha..

Phew.. finally lunch after the hectic “bridesmaid chore”.. yes, choosing flowers for the bouquet.
It is not as easy as thought, cause the names of flower just doesn’t stop at just rose, lily or so.
And the different types and species with their scientific names doesn’t help!
Now… yes, I need food.. loads of it after killing so many brain cells.
And I was brought to this awesome looking place, Shanghai Stories 1938.
The moment I reach the front door and saw the “yum cha” word, I’m already loving it!
Now the best part of the day started the moment the food arrive one by one on the table.
I always thought I’ve tried most of the variety of dim sum… until today. Yes, when they landed two dishes which I’ve never tried before, the pan fried pork bun with sesame and sticky rice siu mai with pork and mushroom.
Woo la la… the pan fried pork bun is a pan friend version of the xiao long bao. I’m totally falling in love with this.
Who would have thought the pan fried version is so much more yummy and juicy. *yum yum*.. 1 is definately not enough!
The sticky rice siu mai, comes as a surprise to me as well. Yes, I’ve never tried anything like this before. A dish that basically combines the chinese sticky rice dish wrapped with siu mai skin. The fragrant of the sticky rice with pork and mushroom is just amazing.
Oh yeah, not forgetting the baked bbq pork bun pastry as well. *slurp slurp* ooo… the pastry is simply too flaky.
I simply adore this to the max! Ah… how how how?? I should diet to fit in my bridesmaid dress! But ah… who cares, food is too yummy to resist.
And I don’t think I need to go on and on to tell you how well every other thing tasted all just so yummy.
See.. now my cousin also enjoys the food to the max. Super yummy teatime.
Thanks cuzzie.. what’s next? I wonder 😀

Ta da… this is my first time flying off alone. Yup, to Sydney it is 😀
It was quite a fun and exciting experience, keep checking if I am at the right gate, board the right plane, wondering who’ll be that stranger sitting next to me and etc.
But well, those funny thoughts didn’t really last that long… as I doze off to sleep probably 10mins after boarding the plane.
*giggles* Can’t help it if I haven’t slept well for the past weeks.
It’s been a while, since I woke up to something beautiful… something I would look forward to.
Now beat that, waking up to an infinite soft and fluffy clouds view. *love love love*
And to top that, warm nasi lemak for breakfast… in the air. *evil laugh*
Waking up in the early morning has never been so fun!
Now, happy moments do pass by real quickly.. and I’ve finally landed in the land down under.
Breathing the fresh cool air… and starts to wonder…
Oh where… oh where is my hiao cousin?
Has she arrived? What is the agenda of the day?
Where will this tour guide of mine bring me?
What to eat? What to see? Where to go?
Hemm… now, why does landing always takes so long. Geez!
It’s been a while, since I last had such wonderful dishes.
Best is when shared with family.
The coconut chicken soup is simply amazing.
And reminds me a lot on my childhood comfort food 🙂
But nothing beats the claypot fish head with yam and the steamed rice wrapped in lotus leaves.
In general, I really am not a big fan of both, but boy… am I wrong 😐
I’m totally blown away with the flavours. *jumps around*
Woo, and I really didn’t notice how long the pork ribs are before… wow!
*nyum nyum* everything tasted so good!! How lah?
Now I wish my stomach can fit more. *giggles*
