Okay… I was peeking at my didi, Monkticon‘s blog and saw this fun stuff. Since I am his ah jie… I wonder how well I actually know him… not bad I guess. I manage to pull out not as bad as I thought I would. Well.. then again.. not good enough as ah jie. I decided that I would list out a question about me and see if people I am close with know me well enough as well. Hehe… have fun~ Create your own Friend Test hereÂ

Me… Meme and Fun Stuffz!
I have been watching a lot of Korean dramas these days and observed this new trend – Black Day.
It is something new that I learnt.
What is Black Day?
Black Day is celebrated 2 months after Valentines Day on April 14.
It’s an informal Korean tradition for single people to gather together and eat Zhajiangmian (炸醬麵).
Wow 😲, I guess it is another wonderful excuse to gather and eat.
Jom, let’s party tomorrow since it is a long weekend 😉.
We have just enough time to eat, chit chat, drink, get high, party and sleep.
I have been tagged by Nicole who started this very tag.
Yes, we have always been talking about food and restaurant recommendations every time we chat.
She is constantly asking me where to bring her for good food when she visits while vice-versa, I would ask her the same.
This is when she decided on making a tag listing of the top 5 places of food one would recommend.
With this, we would be able to crowdsource for a lot of good place to go and explore.
The rules are simple:
1. List out your top 5 favourite place to eat at your location.
2. Put down your link below together below the name/nick of the person who tag you and link directly to your post (e.g http://www.velverse.com/?p=545). Please include the state or country you’re from.
Nicole (Sydney, Australia)
velverse (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
3. Tag 5 other people (preferable from other countries/states)
Now, let us begin and counting down to my recommendation list:
Jogoya is one the top Japanese buffet place I would recommend.
I could recall back then when I brought my sister to this place, and now it is the go to place for birthdays in my family.
While this place doesn’t exactly serve local food, this place serves a good spread of Japanese buffet.
They are popular for their large variety of fresh sashimi and sushi.
Aside, they also serve various types of teppanyaki, teriyaki and tempura.
They also have large selection of steamed and grilled food and soups.
The list of desserts, cakes and cookies are also no joke. Best part, they offer so many variety of drinks.
I could still remember how my sister was too excited with all the options and choices.
And I am sure first timers will go crazy and are mesmerized by the selections.
I remember the last time I went, I was crazy over their sashimi.
I had like 4 plates of sashimi along with many other food such as soft shell crabs, grilled mussels, steam fish, soups and so much more.
I can’t believe myself, neither can my friends; when they saw me eat non stop for 3 hours straight while the others were sitting and burping.
They were shocked and said “Wah!! You can really eat huh?”, which makes me wonder too.
So yes, I don’t mind visiting the Jogoya again. Anyone?

Adding a local Chinese stall to the list.
If you love beef noodles, you can’t miss out Ngau Kee Beef Noodles.
This stall has been around for more than a decade.
As far as I could remember, I have visited this place many times with many different people and I must say they still maintain their standard.
When I first visit, they are a little more strict and only have standard offerings.
However as time goes by, the owner are more flexible and allow customization.
Perhaps it is cause I was visiting during non-peak hours, hence they allowed us to mix and match our food ingredients.
For a start, one can choose to have dry or soup based beef noodles.
One can also choose their desired type of noodles. For those who can’t decide, they can mix a few together as well.
I normally prefer the dry noodles which comes with loads of minced beef on top of the noodles.
They normally serve the noodles with a bowl of soup with beef balls, beef tendons, beef slices and even beef intestines. But all these are customizable in case there are some parts that you would like to include or exclude.
For me, the basic good bowl of beef noodles with bouncy beef balls is good enough to catch my attention.
Their secret recipe chili sauce also contributes to the success of the dish.
Consumer always ask for the chili sauce as it elevates the taste of the beef balls and beef slices.
So when you pay this place a visit, please try their chili sauce too!

As most people know, Nasi Lemak is a must have or must try when you are in Malaysia.
It is our national dish which most Malaysians are proud of.
Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa serves one of the best nasi lemak in town.
I could still remember the first time I visited this place, and it all started with work.
Yes, work. The first time I visited this place was to join my colleague to do a food review on this place.
They needed to ensure they are able to order a feast and take lots of picture, hence we are all invited so that they could order more.
So we ordered our heart out since it was paid for.
This place isn’t called Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa for nothing.
From their wall of fame, we could see photos of people around the world dropping by, leaving comments and reviews.
These includes celebrities, artists and famous people around the world.
While nasi lemak predominantly seems the same and are made of few slices of cucumber, peanuts, ikan bilis, coconut rice and sambal.
The soul of the food relies on two things, the coconut rice and the sambal.
Here at Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa, they simply nailed it!
Aside their basic nasi lemak, they are known for their large variety of condiments and side dishes to add on.
Consumers are spoilt for choices as they have so much to offer, from fried chicken to curry chicken, beef rendang, sambal sotong, curried beef lungs and much more.
When talk about nasi lemak, I personally think they are at one of the top 5 best nasi lemak in town.

Leong Ya is my celebration go to place when I was still studying in Sri Kembangan.
Back in my university days, we would visit this place every time my parents came down to visit me.
This is a typical Chinese restaurant but are popular for their Paper Wrapped Chicken.
Anyone who are searching for good food in Sri Kembangan would have seen Leong Ya pop up in their searches.
And their signature paper wrapped chicken taste really good.
The big and chunky marinated chicken pieces covered in thick dark sauce, slightly sweetened gravy.
Each wrapped chicken was then deep fried to perfection.
Unwrapping the chicken is tedious and felt like unwrapping gifts.
Most of the time, I wished I unwrapped a piece of chicken wings, but mostly to my disappointments.
Somehow my fate with wrapped chicken wings are close to none.
Aside their signature paper wrapped chicken, their Yong Tau Foo is also yummy!
Most of the time, I would feel happy and contented just having this 2 dish.
As I was writing this, I wish I was transported back to my university days.
When Leong Ya was just so near and I can just go there to celebrate all the good times.

Wong Poh Restaurant is the place where I had Chinese New Year dinner with my uni-mates last year.
I personally find the food yummy and good.
It is quite common that most restaurant’s food quality dropped especially during peak hours and festive due to overwhelming guests. But to my surprise, Wong Poh still delivers.
Must have or rather what I like most is their Cheese Crabs in Claypot.
The thick gravy, the aroma of the curry leaves and the cheesy taste completely wrapped around the crabs.
I am so happy that the crabs were huge, fresh and meaty which contributed greatly to it being yummy!
Aside their Cheese Crabs in Claypot, their Butter Crabs and Salted Egg Crabs are to die for also.
No kidding! I think they mastered the art of cooking crabs and is a place crab lovers must visit.
Their Fried Sotong and Pepper Salted Prawns is yummy too!
Now I felt like having a seafood feast!

Hemm… the tag finally catch up on me when I thought I could just slip away without anyone noticing. Apparently redsponge noticed and hence I was tagged. Wah…the most scary W question out of the 5W and 1H question is “WHY”. WHY? Cause “over.time” lor! WHY? Cause this is a REJECT shop. WHY? Cause I’m ARTY-FARTY WHY? Sharing is caring. WHY? Cause I prefer typing to writing. |
To clarify some points… no, this is not a collaborative effort in promoting IKEA. No way… I am not making any money out of this… just think it would be cool if we all use a standard lamp *wink*. Now… let’s start having fun~ |
A year has come and will be gone in like just 2 days. Has it been an exciting year for me? Have I changed? Would I say it is a good year? Probably I am aging with time… I came to notice time is ticking extremely fast. Everyday… I leave my house in the morning only to see it again the next morning. I asked myself, what have I missed out? I really can’t answer that. Day by day just pass… at times I wonder how come it seems to be passing by faster than it used to be. Is it just me being slower or is the clock ticking faster? I don’t know… I tend to feel I am running out of time while everyone around me just felt like there’s lots of time left. People will still be fashionably late or say stuff like.. it’s okay, I’ve got time.. I’ll wait. Time and tide wait for no man my friend… they wait for no man. Well.. I guess that’s life. I used to wish I can grow up to be an adult sooner only to want to remain as a small kid now. Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think? Okay… well, it wasn’t all that bad. These past few weeks, I have been busy planning out what I want to do and achieve for 2007. Don’t ask me why… I dunno.. sudden thing. I guess there was a burning desire in me which makes me want to plan things out and hope to execute it as planned. Well… there are lots of stuffs I want to do… mainly with my career and creativity. Right, I have wasted lots of my time doing nothing and running aimlessly in the dark for sometime. So yeah… let’s hope I manage to follow the breadcrumbs this time. I have come up with this project which I wish to launch it next year… er.. practically in 2 days time. It’s called passion. Well… this project was something I talk and talk about for like a year or so (click to view post). Of course I have altered the initial intention of this project. Yes, you know I am dead serious about this when I spend such long time to create the logo and even spend months thinking of tag lines… colours and all. Similar to project crossroad… passion will be a collaborative effort. This time around.. it’s not limited to drawings only but a much more larger scale of stuff. I just gotta say… just pass the passion for creativity around coz I seriously believe everyone is creative in their own way. Which everyone denies and only thinks that designers are the creative person. Look around you… how you mix and match your cloths… how you imagine of decorating your own home, how you create new recipes and many others… it’s all creativity. So yes, get ready to see what is installed for you next year. Good question of whether I will take out Project Crossroad? I have no idea… don’t think I will. So yeah… gonna max out my brain cells next year! So yeah… by the way… happy new year to everyone, no matter where you are. Let’s hope it’s an enjoyable year waiting for you ahead. Err… you would have probably seen this in your mailbox so for those who didn’t receive it, here it is. Well.. I tried very hard sneaking to everyone’s blog to peek for their email addresses but well… some were plain mysterious so yeah, just wanna wish you guys a Happy New Year. |
Jinggle Bell… jinggle bell…. Wokay… Christmas is near, I’m excited but not entirely happy. I dunno why. Probably I am a confused person. Hehe… but I can’t wait.. to open up presents and all. Yeay… I like Christmas… probably coz of the deco’s the tree and an excuse to buy myself something. Yeah.. knowing myself, I will buy something for myself. Anyway… Merry Christmas and hope you all design and have a special Christmas. Now… okay… as you may think and wonder how come the designs look so familiar…. this is the theme and style for the year.. and had been carried out in printed cards and all. So yes… you will see them in your mail box, gift tags.. blah blah blah… What should I do for next year? Any ideas? |
I am back! I got TAGGED by may with a newest style of tagging.
Nowadays memes are more advanced and challenging as it is no longer about just answering questions.
What caught my attention on this meme was it’s theme on colours.
My favourite colour as all know was PURPLE and any hues between purple to PINK.
I think it is quite obvious given my previous blog skin had a hint of purple mixed with pink.
However, when I was at a house warming party yesterday, someone suddenly ask if I like green colour.
They mentioned they saw me wearing a lot of green coloured top recently, hence that is why the question.
I was shocked 😲 to hear that too. Do I like green? Really?
I think I like any and have a lot of different colour tops.
So yes, GREEN is the new black!
1. I totally love the light green colour on the Qoo White Grape Juice can. The colour was so vibrant and catchy and I find it very lovely and cute 😍. Don’t you all think so?
2. My love for Sailor Jupiter will never die. My sister gifted me a set of Sailormoon character figurines as my birthday present.
3. Eunice gifted me a box of chocolate and a cute teddy bear. The gift was wrapped with different green hues and Christmas ornaments.
4. Look, even my sister are in the mood for GREEN.
5. I am sure it is a TAN family gene since my sweet , cute and lovely cousin, Nicole also wears the same.
6. The best green in the list are the Wasabi flavoured nuts? It was so yummy and had this sharp spicy feel that goes up the nose. I totally love the excitement and chill thrill. More please!
So it seems I can only choose person 6 to tag? Now, I choose you:
seefei (I know photography is always your thing! Time to impress me.)
Nicole (Being cute, sweet and lovely have a price to pay.)
BeerBrat (Since you read my blog everyday, here is a little small prize for you.)
mistyjoanne (It’s been a while. Seriously, it’s been a while.)
hoshi (Hoshi san, time to flex your creative skills.)
ikan (The growing star. One who are famous must be tagged.)
I was tagged by redsponge to expose a little bit more about myself.
And of course didn’t have the heart to reject another Andy Lau fans. Yeay!
Okay, I will keep this short and sweet, since it’s quite an amount of questions being asked.
Now, get set.. ready.. GO!
ARE YOU:
1. A Cuddler?
Not really. Then again, that depends how special you are 🙂
2. A morning person?
No way! While I think sleeping is a waste of time, I am guilty of wasting my time away.
3. Are you a perfectionist?
I wish but unfortunately not. However, people around me thinks I am one.
Then again, I won’t give up practicing to be perfect. I’m sure I will get there someday since practice makes perfect!
4. An only child?
Of course not. Although I once wish I was.
5. Catholic?
Mmmm.. no.
6. In your pajamas?
At this hour? I’m all prep up and ready to party~
7. Currently suffering from a broken heart?
Haha… I am heartless. So how can I suffer from a broken heart?
8. Okay styling other people’s hair?
I can but it’s really not my thing!
9. Left handed?
Right. I am always right.
10. Addicted to MySpace?

8. How many kids do you want?
I don’t want to have any. It’s too painful!
One of those random days where I am too lazy to do any photo montages.
And all I want to do is just write, do some typography and play with some colours.
I am different which makes me weird.
At least that is what I would like to believe. Believe that I am by default born different, live in my very own little world and practice mand-ism. And living in this small world by myself makes it even harder to share the same thoughts, and even the air that we are breathing together. And this of course resulted to me being seen as weird.
Many people I know used to describe me as WEIRD. And every attempt to justify just put myself into a worst position. And at times, it got me thinking if being different is a crime?
I am not pretty which makes me cute.
Come to think of it, it never came across my mind that I was the pretty kind. Not that I am humble.. just I think I am the cute kind. Haha… okay… maybe I forgot to put the word “pretend to be” in front of the word cute.
I know, I know… I am too old to still pretend to be cute. But I just can’t help it! And I don’t see anything wrong with pretending to be cute. It’s just me and I am not forcing you to, so don’t judge!
I am talkative which makes me a crapper.
Yes, I can be if I want to. If you don’t feel it, then that means we are not close enough.
In general, I talk a lot to my close friends to some point I will annoy the hell out of them.
I speak up which makes me bold.
This is not something I always do, because I believe in second chances. So if you hear me speak up, you are either unlucky or just annoying.
I would advice you to never ever try provoking me to speak up when I have no intention of saying. I will either rock your believes or bring you on a tour to see the other side of the world.
I am cheeky which makes me notti.
Haha.. I was born in the year of the monkey, what do you expect!
It’s in the blood and born with it thingy. At least in my parents heart, I will be the cheeky and notti one.
I am not sensible which makes me not reasonable.
While I try hard to control my sensibility, by nature I am not. Many things I say and think are not justifiable by any sense or reasons. I will just do things I feel like doing.
I think too much which makes me over sensitive.
Thinking is something I do, but it does not always translate to a well thought through process or solutions and even words. Why you may ask? And the answer to that would be, the emotional side of me overpowered my rational side.
Small little things will actually provoke me to re-think or start thinking. Well, I think I over think stuffs at times, trying to think and look at things in a different perspective. But one common thing will appear along this thinking process, friends will pass a passing remark that you are overly sensitive when you try to analyze a matter and thought to them. And I used to feel annoyed with that. But I have came to a conclusion that, they do not feel it because they have not see what I have seen, or they have not think of what I have thought.
I believe in destiny but I forsee possibilities.
It has been a long battle in the belief between destiny and human will. I use to think that if I didn’t make an action, nothing will ever take place. But well, as years goes by, I sort of come to a conclusion that everything and anything has it’s time and place which was pre-destined. But any new step or actions you make will create a different possibilities.
